--> Trustee GAAPS - Finding the Right Person for the Client Scheme

Our Selection Process

The current selection process is a hit or miss affair.

Typically, when a scheme wants a new independent trustee:

  • the pensions manager asks his advisers for some names

  • the advisers give names of colleagues and clients who he thinks might be interested

  • the pensions manager and colleagues choose one

The result is a new trustee who is probably fairly competent, but may not be the best for the job. They also may not be independent of the advisers.

New research reveals that only 36% of workplace pensions schemes have independent directors on the trustee board; there is still a huge amount of work to be done to remove conflicts of interest from trustee boards.

To avoid such conflicts, Trustee GAAPS will handle the search, selection and appointment of better candidates, and match them to your scheme.
